This is my first review. It’s not necessarily my favorite board game, but there’s something about it that feels different to me, even though quite a few people tend to mock or dismiss it.
One thing I find really interesting is that it’s a game with no cards, no dice, and no app guidance. Despite that, it still demands a lot of strategy. There’s real depth here, with tough decisions to make and plenty of aggressive or even hostile moves ,something I personally enjoy in competitive games.
How It Feels at the Table
From my experience, the game really shines with four players. The interaction feels right, the decisions matter more, and the overall length of the game works very well at that count. It creates a good balance between tension and flow.
I also like the mechanisms quite a lot. The player boards are simple, clean, and easy to understand, which makes the game feel smooth once everyone knows what they’re doing.
What I Liked
Strong strategic depth despite simple components
Tough and sometimes aggressive decisions
Very satisfying competitive gameplay
Clean and functional player boards
Best experience (for me) at four players
What Didn’t Work for Me
The only thing that slightly bothers me is the central board. It feels a bit monotonous visually, and the artwork doesn’t excite me that much. That said, it’s something I can easily overlook because the gameplay itself works so well.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this is a game I’d happily play again anytime if three other people are willing to join. It may not be perfect visually, but the decisions and interaction at the table make it worth it for me.
